Great way to explore local wildlife during walk in Tatra mountain without hides in Slovakia.

Bear watching walking tour in Slovakia, is one of our popular tours we provide in Tatra mountain in Slovakia! Experienced bear guides will take you to the places with best chance to spot brown bear. We do about 30 tours in 4 months.

Seeing the brown bears in their territory is always great day, even for our guides, as every day is always different, but besides the brown bear we will spot the chamois, red deer, bird species ….

The Tatra Mountains National Park offers many places where you can find them. Possible spots to see them are in the village Ždiar area, central mountain but also western tatra mountain.

We will take you to one where are the best chances to see them. Located near village Podbanské.

Informations

Meet and greet your guide at Podbanské village, Vysoké Tatry

Meeting time strongly depends on the season, on spring we usually meet at 4AM and in autumn we meet at 5:30AM.

Start to walk

Everybody in the group received binocular, our first possible spot to see the brown bear will be in 60 minutes of hike.

While on trail

We do many stops while on hike, our guide will do his best to find the bear!! Besides bear watching, our guides will teach you names of the flowers, berries, mushrooms and trees growing in western tatra mountains.

Found the bear!!!

Once we find the bear or bears in the valley we stay with them as long as we see them!

Happy return

We had great hike in fantastic valley with tons of pictures and videos. Your guide will send you his files through online cloud storage:)

How high is the chance to spot brown bear in it’s own territory?

Each season we do around 30 tours and 25 were successful in spotting the bears.

How long and how hard is the hike?

Hike takes 7km into the valley and 7km back.

Every bear watching day tour is different. It always depends on season and weather but the chances to spot them are always high.
