Getting tickets ahead is essential. Going in late afternoon would be best for pictures.

I'm so glad someone recommended seeing this. It was breathtaking.

It was crowded and we did stand in line for an extra 15 minutes. So we lined up at 2:10pm for our 2:30pm slot and got through the entry at 2:45pm. Those buying tickets probably waited over an hour.
