The last access to the monument is until 5.30 pm.

Free entrance is available on the first Sunday of January, February, March, November, and December and during European Heritage Days.

Closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25.

Its history is interesting, its facade - impressive - but as a tourist attraction its not doing its job as it is almost empty.

Unique medieval hall, columns and vaults. Not much to do or see, but this huge hall was worth the entrance fee.

You can learn a lot about the time of the Terror of the Revolution, see where Marie Antoinette and Robespierre spent their last hours, and walk in the halls of the former prison. There are tablets that show in AR what the place used to look like. Definitely worth a visit.
