The construction of the Pantheon in Paris was inspired by the Rome’s Pantheon especially the portico, with 24 large Corinthian columns and the dome architecture. The dome is actually consists of three domes, one within the other, with the gorgeously painted ceiling on the second dome. The dome is 83.0 metres (272 ft) high. The interior is adorned with mosaics and beautiful paintings of scenes from French history. The Pendulum hanging from the centre of the dome is a replica of the Foucault’s pendulum, who did his experiment here to demonstrate the rotation of the earth. This pendulum is still beautiful and attracts lots of crowed. We noticed this time that books has been placed along the circumference of the circle – a novel idea. The Pantheon Crypt is in a subterranean chamber. This is the final resting place for many well known and illustrious French writers, poets, politicians and scientists namely Victor Hugo, Voltaire, Rousseau, Marie & Pierre Curie, Emile Zola etc. This magnificent and imposing structure in the city is a huge tourist puller and should not be missed.

The pantheon is for non French people a so so experience. one must be really interested in the post French Revolution heroes to enjoy this. the building is large, impressive yes, however somewhat empty and sober inside. there are other highlights which deserve your time more...
Thank you so much for your kind review!
It will never be like the PANTHEON in ROME but still a must see in Paris. You have Sorbonne University close by and Luxembourg gardens. So even though it is far away from main attraction points you should definitely visit
Thank you for your kind words!
