In the area of Paris where the former College of Sobourne can be found, you will encounter the Paris Pantheon, that was originally a Christian basilica converted to what is euphemistically called a secular "Temple to the Nation". The remains of many "French heroes, authors, writers, sculptors, painters, politicians and military personages of value to French history can be found here. Of note are the remains of Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Pierre and Marie Curie. The lower levels of the Pantheon are cool so that on a hot summer day, this makes a fine place to learn some of the history of France away from the heat of the Paris afternoon sun.
There you can visit the tomb of many national heroes in France, plus see a variety of wall paintings and statues.
