What an amazing experience - when you first walk into Sainte-Chapelle downstairs it is easy to look around and ask what all the hype is about. But then you climb the stairs and the chapel explodes with light and color.
There are two levels to cover. The lower level is beautiful but subtle and displays artifacts retrieved before the renovation and also houses the souvenir shop. The upper level is more crowded and home to the stained glass windows and statues along with the shroud. The place is beautiful inside.
